The diamond dealer Mehul Choksi, who is needed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) for multi-core financial institution fraud, has been arrested by Dominica Police.
Choksi, who was reported lacking on Sunday by a member of the family, was arrested on Tuesday night time following a Yellow Discover alert.
In response to Antigua native media, police in Dominica are actually making preparations at hand over Choksi to the Antigua police. Earlier, the Antigua authorities contacted Interpol and different worldwide police companies within the Caribbean area to find Choksi.
Choksi acquired citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda in 2017. He escaped from India and has been residing in Antigua since January 2018.
Choksi, 61, and his nephew Nirav Modi are needed in reference to the alleged misappropriation of Rs 13,500 crore of public cash from the state-run Punjab Nationwide Financial institution (PNB).
Modi is in a London jail after repeatedly denying bail and opposing extradition to India. Each are dealing with CBI investigation.
